Today is #GivingTuesday

A day that was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

FIAMC would like you to keep our non-profit organization in mind when you’re deciding what your GivingTuesday looks like.

Here’s how you can be a part of our generosity movement:

📌Recommend us to those who would benefit from our services.

📌Consider donating your time and becoming a volunteer with FIAMC.

📌Support and contribute today to our seniors’ safe and happy lives.

📍Simply click the link below to be transferred to our secure and safe PayPal account.

📍Or you may scan the QR code located on the upper right-hand side of the image.

If you wish to support our organization through a different platform than PayPal, please give our office a call Monday-Thursday 9:00am to 2:00pm. Please leave a voicemail if after hours and we will be happy to return it as soon as possible.

Thank you for choosing to help Faith in Action of Marathon County

to serve a very vulnerable population in our area.

Important Programs

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Hunger is one of the most significant challenges facing older adults today — about one in 12 people over 50 is food insecure. Rising food prices, along with other costs, have made it more difficult for seniors to have consistent access to healthy food.

There is a program you may qualify for called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This program helps older adults with low income buy the food they need to stay healthy and active.

SNAP is a lifeline for seniors who are hungry. It provides supplemental funds to older adults with low income each month so they can buy the food they need, put their resources toward other basic needs, and go from surviving to thriving.

Benefits can be applied for online at: www.access.wisconsin.gov or by calling or visiting the Marathon County Department of Social Services at 1000 Lake View Drive, Suite 400, Wausau, WI. Phone: 888-445-1621.

November 12-18: Social Isolation and Loneliness Awareness Week

Governor Evers has proclaimed November 12-18 as Social Isolation and Loneliness Week. A week that FIAMC honors all year round.

Loneliness and Isolation are both associated with physical, emotional, and psychological health impacts which include greater risk for cardiovascular events, depressive symptoms, cognitive decline, and abuse and neglect.

Did you know that prolonged isolation can be as bad for your health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day?

FIAMC provides friendly visiting as a way to help combat these feelings. If you have a loved one who resides in Marathon County and is 60+, or you are currently a Care Receiver in need of socialization, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at 715-848-8783.
