We are looking for a Volunteer to help with our Intake Process.
Intake Volunteers are responsible for completing a Home Visit with new care recipients. The home visit can be completed in person or over the phone. The Intake Volunteer will assess whether the care recipient will be a good fit for our program based on their needs and answer any questions they may have. Once the Home Visit is completed, the Intake Volunteer will write a summary and return it to the FIAMC office.

Do you know 7 of the worst habits for your joints?
1- Smoking Seniors who smoke are 30 to 40 percent more likely to break their hips than their nonsmoking counterparts.
2- Physically inactive lifestyle Extra pounds are hard on your joints, especially those in the hips, hands and knees.
3- Overdoing exercise Cramming in a week’s worth of exercise on the weekend isn’t doing any good for your joints. Research shows that daily activities are a much better route.
4- Carrying a heavy load Consider a “heavy load” any amount of weight that requires more than one hand to pick it up.
5- Eating pro-inflammatory foods Limiting pro-inflammatory foods like red meat, sugar, and dairy can decrease joint pain.
6- Frequent texting The occasional text does minimal, if any, harm to your joints. To avoid joint pain, take breaks and consider using your smartphone’s speech-to-text feature.
7- Skimping on sleep Skipping out on sleep can make any pain you experience in the daytime even worse.
