Three Gratitudes Practice

Have you ever heard of

Itโ€™s the practice of paying attention, noticing, and being present โ€” no matter what youโ€™re doing. Developing mindfulness can help you observe your thoughts and feelings so you can better understand how you react to situations, especially social ones that may make you feel anxious.

One mindfulness method is called the

Wherever you are โ€” at home or at a social event โ€” observe your surroundings and name three things you are grateful for.

“I am grateful for my warm coffee, a healthy family, and my neighborโ€™s friendly dog who visits me.”

If you are in need of friendly visiting, regardless if you’re currently a FIAMC Care Receiver or interested in becoming one, please reach out to our office. We would be happy to schedule you for a friendly phone call or visit with a compassionate FIAMC Volunteer. 715-848-8783

Tips on how to avoid Amazon scams

Amazon scams are running rampant these days. Below are some ways you can stay safe and avoid Amazon imposter scams.

-Do not respond to any incoming robocalls, texts, or emails claiming to be from Amazon or another trusted brand. And donโ€™t follow instructions to press 1 or call another number.

-Be suspicious of robocalls or other communications with bad grammar or stilted language (although AI is making it easier for imposters to appear legitimate).

-If you have concerns about your Amazon account, hang up on the robocall or ignore the message and log in to your Amazon and relevant credit card account to check for suspicious charges.

-Consider using a call blocker.

-Donโ€™t assume a text or call is legitimate because it comes from a familiar phone number or area code. Spammers use caller ID spoofing to make it appear the text is from a trusted or local source.

-Never click on links in suspicious texts or emails. They could install malware on your device or take you to a site that does the same.
