Hunger is one of the most significant challenges facing older adults today — about one in 12 people over 50 is food insecure. Rising food prices, along with other costs, have made it more difficult for seniors to have consistent access to healthy food.
There is a program you may qualify for called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This program helps older adults with low income buy the food they need to stay healthy and active.
SNAP is a lifeline for seniors who are hungry. It provides supplemental funds to older adults with low income each month so they can buy the food they need, put their resources toward other basic needs, and go from surviving to thriving.
