Welcome Spring

From the Director’s Desk:

Phew… think it is safe to say, “spring has sprung”! How beautiful to experience the return of the Robins and their pleasant “Love Song of Spring”. I enjoy watching the changes of nature; as it peels away the heavy garments of winter with the entrance of refreshing, tiny buds that will soon burst forth to reveal lush new growth.

One cannot mistake how exciting the new advancement and changes that have been popping up at Faith in Action. We have been blessed with wonderful moments of meeting and training those of you who are willing and able to learn our new computer scheduling program called, “Ride Scheduler”. It was developed with senior volunteers in mind and is very easy and user-friendly. The volunteers who have begun to use the program have been amazed of how much more convenient it is. They can stay on-top-of their schedule and enjoy the independence the 24/7 cloud-based program allows. No more phone tag and messages – just instant access.

There are many senior neighbors who cannot drive to medical appointments or grocery shopping. Some are living under the poverty line and cannot afford basic food. Thankfully, you, our FIA volunteers are delivering those provisions through donations from The Neighbor’s Place. Other seniors are in need of prevention measures to help protect them from serious falls. To reach more Marathon County seniors, FIA needs to expand our provisional area to accommodate a growing number of requests for our services. Please seek out other persons you know who would be good at volunteering.

Together, we will accomplish great and mighty new horizons. May we s-t-r-e-t-c-h our reach for the seemingly impossible and be pleasantly surprised how our mutual cooperative effort can burst forth into new growth!

All of our volunteers serve an integral part of the compassionate integrity needed for providing services to our our seniors in this community.

These distinctive, NO CHARGE, but desperately needed services

which are provided strictly through Faith in Action,

continue to be unprecedented!

“Connecting neighbors in need with people who care!”

I look forward to meeting with each of you as we spring ahead together,

With Warm Regards,

Ruth
